New Patients

Because we care for many patients who are immunocompromised it is our office policy to not provide in-office care to unvaccinated children.

To schedule an appointment with us here at Bay Area Allergy & Asthma, please call (727) 327-5719.

We are dedicated to prioritizing the patient’s needs and work to accommodate your schedule. Our staff is here to assist you in finding the most convenient appointment time to meet your needs.

For patients new to our practice please be sure to arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time. It is important to bring your driver’s license and a current insurance card with you.

We also request that you bring any relevant medical records with you, such as hospital records, previous allergy testing, radiology and/or laboratory results. Ideally you can call ahead and have that information faxed to our office prior to the date of your visit.

Please be aware that we treat patients with lung disease therefore please arrive wearing no perfumes.

If allergy skin testing is to be done at your initial visit, oral antihistamine medications must be discontinued 5 days prior to the appointment date. These include prescription medications like Clarinex, hydroxyzine or Astepro as well as OTC meds like Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec or Benadryl. We also suggest avoiding any OTC meds that have the word PM in them or ‘allergy’ in their name.

Occasionally there are other prescription medications that make skin testing difficult but this will be discussed upon your initial consultation. If your condition is bothersome enough to prevent you from stopping antihistamines for the suggested time period, we ask that you still keep your scheduled appointment – we can help speed your recovery now, and perform testing at a later date. It is not necessary to stop.
